Gyr's Star Wars Prequels Re-write

For a while since realizing how awful the prequels were, I've wanted to come up with my own story of how things went down before A New Hope, and I recently began to give it a lot of thought.  Today, I managed to get down on paper a plot enough for one movie, and I figured it would be a good idea to write the script out here for you guys to see.

I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to do this, but I will likely update in weekly installments, with a few scenes each time.  Throughout it all I'll make edits and changes, and I'll be open to any feedback.

This is just an announcement post, but there will be more in the coming days.  Go ahead and comment what you don't like/would want to change about the prequels.  (I obviously think it's so bad the only solution is to erase it and start from scratch)  If you have any questions, pose them as well.

Hmm. I've actaully not given much thought on what I'd change (other then less of Aniken and more with the clones cause yeah. Lets face it, the clones are awesome xD)

There's a guy on Youtube with the channel name Belated media who actually does something very similar to this, posting his ideas on what he thinks would have made the prequels better, and he has some really good thoughts on it, in my opinion.

One of his biggest points is that the prequels should have had much more focus on Obi-Wan, which I think is a wonderful idea.

I've seen these, and I couldn't agree more. While the Skywalkers are kind of the basis for the over-arching plot of the original saga, the originals focused mostly on Luke and his friends, while the prequels...didn't really have any main focus. If there had been a focus on Obi-wan and his relationship with Anakin, or that relationship instead of the clearly-forced and poorly-written "romance" between Anakin and Padme, I think the prequels would have been much better movies.

Which is, essentially, what the guy cBm linked says. Not to say I don't still love Attack of the Clones, because, well clones.

I think most people agree that Obi-Wan should have played a larger role in the prequels. In a lot of ways, he SHOULD have been the main character. Anakin is important, yes, but by having complete focus on him, you ruin some of the best attributes of Darth Vader.

If darth maul had been one of the main villians throughout the prequels, rather than count dooku, the overall quality would have been vastly improved.

I have to disagree, Wyatt - the actor who played Dooku is a phenomenal one.

ARC: eh. True. Can we just have darth maul live though? I mean really, the prequells could stand a bit more BAASery.

Meh, I liked Dooku better anyways. I think they needed a disposable Sith - he was going to die either way, and having a fallen Jedi as the apprentice sets up Anakin's fall to the dark side better than having a Sith "born and bred" hm?

'Kay so I kinda haven't done anything with this. Sorry about that. I've just got a lot on my plate at the moment and this is the last thing on my mind. To console you, here's a picture of a Millenium Falcon I made out of laser-cut cardboard for my Engineering class.
