One tip... Get Morrigan (I think its called "Mana Clash") the spell that drains enemy mana, and deals damage for all mana drained. I've seen some people say they don't use it because its super OP, and in a way it is. But I've also fought, died, and had to load repeatedly in some battles against enemy mages. So, it can definitely ease off the frustration, when you can hammer the enemy mages in one hard hitting spell.

Got into Rocket League recently.  I'd say I'm about as good at it as I am at actual soccer irl (I'm not particularly good).  I think the trick to doing well is taking a conservative approach, aside from developing your skills in the game.  It has a surprisingly steep learning curve, but is still fun as heck.

My only criticisms would be that I would have preferred that they had a freelook camera tied to your vehicle instead of having to choose between having it locked to the ball or not locked to the ball.  You can look around if you have a controller (which I don't), but if you try to do it with a mouse, the camera snaps back too quickly, as it seems it was designed for a controller.  Also, I would have liked a little bit more feedback communicating when you've hit the ball.  Sometimes when you lightly bump it, you don't even notice.

I'll look into that, sounds useful.

Also, I just found Oghren and traded Sten out; Oghren is a thousand times better than Sten, and I wish I'd gotten him sooner. I cant stand Sten. I absolutely hate his character.

Yeah the game was developed pretty much on PS4 with the idea the majority of people would play on that console, pretty sure PC release was a later thought. Probably why cross-play is possible. With a controller the game is way better, even with the gold 360 controller.

Started playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution, as it was on sale. I think it's one of the most impressive videogames I've ever played. It's the only game I can think of where I actually take the time to walk through the area, instead of just running around everywhere.

Started playing Elite: Dangerous, it's on sale until 28th of September. I've been meaning to get it for a while but wanted to see more of it but the upcoming expansion looks brilliant.

Basically it's a near 1:1 scale Milky Way galaxy and you are given a ship and basically told to go out and do stuff. It looks incredible but I've only done 2 hours now and I didn't really get into it fully yet. The game is really complex to the point where it's pretty much a simulator. I've been hyped recently for No Man's Sky so I needed to pick this up to fill the gap.

For $20 its a good pick up but for you guys in the US it would be a better deal if you wanted the game to pre-order Horizons expansion which includes that and the base game for $40. For us in the euro it somehow works out 10 euro cheaper to go and get the game now on sale then pre-order the expansion. Also don't buy through steam, the developer's store sells it with a steam key and they get 100% of the profits.

Well, in case no one has heard about it yet, I discovered the joy of playing games in a low, windowed resolution. So now I can play just about everything again without even the slightest interference. So far, at least. Razz

So now I'm playing Hotline Miami 2, and I'm loving every second of it. Razz

I also got back into the standard Don't Starve routine, and I also started playing the first Half-Life, and of course, I really like it.

Re: What are you currently playing?

Battlefront beta was on over the weekend and ends on October 13th. I tried playing it an hour ago or so and the servers were pretty much done with all the people so I gave up playing after several extremely laggy games.

The game it's self is basically a SW FPS and that's pretty much it. Nothing overly special about it and it's kind of got the barebones feel of games like CS GO which is good and bad. From what we can play, it just seems like it's lacking any creativity other than the SW content being really, really good.

The audio, graphics and presentation is amazing and the physics and mechanics are on par with any DICE game. That's kind of where the praise ends though.

The survival is basically glorified waves of AI, on normal it's not much of a challenge. Spilt screen in the beta just causes the game to crash on PS4.

The online gamemodes are rather basic and lacking. Drop Pods is basically a domination gamemode with randomly placed objectives. The battle of Hoth then while utterly breathtaking is a one sided affair where you'll end up getting the deja vu feeling after a few games.

Now my expectations of the game is it would be a brilliant DICE game and it is, but I would have hoped they'd have more to offer. It just seems leaving out a single player campaign hasn't really benefited at all. The game is just a marketing tool for the movie by the looks of things which is a shame.

... Wait, they decided to leave out a singleplayer campaign? Wow. I mean, I like multiplayered, but seriously, before I go multiplayered, I like to spend some time doing the campaign to say, learn the features of the game. And although doing that by just doing Instant Action can be fun, campaigns are normally what keep me going for a long time, in basically any game. Otherwise, I'll eventually get bored, and want to play through the story of another game.

Yeah they announced the decision not to have a campaign around E3 time, they claimed it was to give the best multiplayer experience.

The extent of single player content is you can do the survival missions on your own along with bot matches and tutorial missions. The bot matches by the looks of things is kind of like that gamemode in halo, forget what it's called, Spartan assault? There is dialogue in the survival missions but it's about as exciting as cod zombie dialogue... From my experience so far I get the impression this single player content will still require you to be signed into the game via your EA account, so no true offline play either.

Wow. Okay thanks a lot for the information.

EA, scratch one customer off of your list. I am so not purchasing that game.

To be honest if you are getting it you should probably think about also getting the season pass since that will include 4 dlc packs. It's probably going to be like other DICE games too so getting those DLC packs will mean you'll be able to access games where the majority of people are. I find with battlefield not buying the DLC limits your experience online.

Just started playing CS:GO and L.A. Noire. CS:GO is a lot of fun, way more fun than I thought it would be. I found out it surprisingly accessible, despite the steep learning curve.

L.A. Noire is also fun, just getting to play through what is essentially a police procedural show set in postwar L.A. The pacing is a bit off, especially in the beginning, but I'm enjoying it a lot.

LA Noire is probably one of my favourite Rockstar games, probably just under RDR and San Andreas though. Way better than GTAV though.

I've only ever played bot games in CS:GO, I keep hearing bad things about the community. But then I did survive the Dota community....

As my steam profile suggests the main game I've been playing is Fallout 4. I've never properly played any Fallout games but it's ok. It's not amazing like most people claim but it's a solid 7 or 8. Picked up some civ 5 dlc I was missing, a pointless euro truck sim 2 dlc and also a Project Cars pack during these sales. People will ask why I didn't get the civ 5 complete edition, I wish it was a thing when I got the game. I really hate devs that do things like complete editions because it just usually means loyal fans get conned out and have to pay way more for DLC.

Yeah, with CSGO, I consistently find myself having to mute several people on each server. Occasionally you'll have a person or two who seem to be cool though.

For some reason lately, I've been really itching for an immersive singleplayer FPS title, so I decided to pick up a copy of Far Cry 2. So far I've just beaten the introduction/tutorial bit and only now have gotten my first real mission, but I'm really pleased so far.
