I kept forgetting to post this, but I recently saw Ex Machina in theaters. It waas a pretty good film, but there was one scene in particular that was just totally awesome and came out of no where. If you've seen it too, you probably know what I'm talking about.

I saw Home in theaters yesterday. It was pretty much the definition of "meh".

I hope to watch Age of Ultron next weekend.

I watched Age of Ultron last weekend, imo, it was better than the first Avengers. Scarlett Witch and Vision were my faves. 8D

And now, a long time after everyone else, I have seen Age of Ultron. And I liked it. A lot.

Note: The spoiler definitely contains spoilers.
Spoiler:

The ending line was wonderfully done. Cutting off before "ASSEMBLE." I was totally set for it, and was really eager... AND THEN THE MOVIE ENDED. Drove me crazy for a bit. XD
Then, the entire bit with Hawkeye having a family... I definitely liked that, along with Black Widow being "Aunt Nat."
I was also rather fond of the bit where Wanda is going through a bit of a breakdown towards the end, and Clint talks to her for a bit. Just a scene that made me like Clint even more. He was likely my least favorite of the five in the first Avengers movie, but this one... It made me really want a Hawkeye movie. Oh, and then, of course, when Wanda does step out and start kicking butt... That was pure epicness.

Lastly, did anyone ELSE notice Thor's hammer move when Steve tried to pick it up? And then that Steve did more of a fake strain for his second pull?

All in all, my only complaint was that Falcon hardly got any screen time. I would have liked it if he could have been at least in the final battle scene.

Just got back from Mad Max: Fury Road (after marathoning the first three). One of the greatest things I've had the pleasure to see in a theater.

I managed to see Kung Fury myself, and I must say it's the best thing ever. Razz

Laser Unicorn should really consider making a sequel.

I've also seen quite a lot of movies before that, but I didn't really feel like posting about them.

Though there is one movie in particular that I've seen, which turned out to be quite a disappointment. And it's a shame, because I really thought the story would pass for an interestingly good movie, if only it wasn't executed like one of those sloppy "family" films from the 90s, which is pretty ironic, since I wouldn't really pass some of the content in it as family friendly. Razz

What compelled me to see this movie in the first place? Well, Tim Allen and Richard Dreyfuss, mostly. And this one scene from the movie, which I thought was absolutely brilliant. I would show it to you guys, but it has a little bit of swearing in it, so I'm not sure if I can. Razz

A bit trippy, but good nonetheless.

@Wyatt: I really liked it, especially the last 30-40 minutes. The beginning was a little slow, but everything after the 3 guys got on the boat was amazing.

I saw O Brother, Where Art Thou?, which was delightful. A comedy based on the Odyssey that takes place in the Great Depression, features George Clooney, and is directed by the Coen Brothers. Great Stuff.

I also watched Nightcrawler, in which Jake Gylhenhaal (don't know if I spelled that right) as a sociopathic criminal who decides to become a freelance videographer for television news. In doing so, he does several immoral and unethical things. His behavior is cringeworthy both in the sense that he is awkward, and that he is also inadvertently (and sometimes advertently) endangering and harming others. Interesting Stuff.

Just watched Bronson, a film about "Britain's most famous prisoner." It is very R-rated, but Tom Hardy's portrayal of the title character is fantastic.

Saw Jurassic World last night. It was silly and ridiculous, but in the most amazing way possible. I really enjoyed it, but it's one of those movies that you shouldn't overthink, cause the suspension of disbelief runs a little thin throughout the movie. Still, I really liked it, and Chris Pratt was awesome in it, as always.

Yesterday I saw Midnight Run, a 1988 action comedy starring Robert De Niro. I personally thought it was really good. I highly recommend it for any De Niro fan. Though I must warn you, it has quite a lot of grownup language. Razz

I also forgot to mention the two Steve Martin movies I saw a while back. One was My Blue Heaven, the other Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

And I gotta say, My Blue Heaven was absolutely hilarious. You got Steve Martin playing an Italian mobster who is under protection by an FBI agent played by Rick Moranis. Now that setup is a winner. You guys gotta see it. Razz

@cBm: I also recommend Jaws 2 if you enjoyed the first one. There's a lot more going on throughout it compared to the first, if I remember correctly.

Nightcrawler is a nutty movie that seems way too real (except for the action scenes at the end).

But this is about recent movies. I just watched Catch-22 a few days ago (read the book everyone, it's hilarious) and saw Skeleton Twins last night because Bill Hader was on Jimmy Fallon and that reminded me of the movie that I still hadn't watched. Catch-22 is great with the flashbacks and works pretty well as a war satire. Skeleton Twins is sometimes hilarious and sometimes downright depressing, but it's a good watch that isn't anywhere close to being a family movie (not because of anything graphic, and there's none of that anyway).

Saw Ant-Man the other day. Definitely different than a typical Marvel film.. it had much more of a "heist film" vibe to it. Nevertheless, I still really enjoyed it and it was fun to watch. Razz

I saw the Angriest Man in Brooklyn starring the late Robin Williams.

Unfortunately it sucked. And it seems I'm not the only one who thinks so.

A real shame, really, 'cause this would make a very good movie if done right. But instead it felt like the whole thing didn't stick together, and some bits would've been better off cut out or done differently.

But sometimes in every pile of crap there's a chance you may find a shiny penny, which I will show to you right now.

(Contains an f-bomb in case you're concerned.)

And that was the only funniest bit from the entire movie.
