Re: What was the last movie you saw?
I watched Fight Club, Snowpiercer, and Choke within the past week or two. Fight Club was fun and kinda crazy and a really cool movie. Snowpiercer was a really well-made action movie, but unfortunately, some important parts didn't have needed subtitles. The ending of the movie is made way more confusing if you remember what a certain person said about another person's tongue. Choke was a movie that seemed to have 3 different storylines and kept alternating between each. It did make sense but the twist ending near the end seemed almost like a throwaway. They're all pretty good. Go watch them.

Watched Enemy at the Gates the other night. It wasn't quite what I imagined, but it was good.

Last week I watched Independence Day for the first time. I definitely liked it a lot. Though I was laughing at a few plot holes afterwards.

I watched Infernal Affairs, a Hong Kong crime thriller. A very interesting premise of a gang and a police agency, each with a mole in the other. The leaders and their respective moles try to figure each other out, and things go south.

Re: What was the last movie you saw?
I've seen quite a lot of movies since I last posted in this topic. Many that I would recommend, but... I don't feel like reviewing them.
But, let's see... I've seen stuff like Breakdown starring Kurt Russel... I saw this one hilarious high school comedy movie from the 80s called Three O' Clock High. Really enjoyed it.
I also saw Drive. I really liked that one. I mean it's one of the main inspirations for Hotline Miami, so I had to see it. It's almost the same in every way.
And I saw the Shaun the Sheep movie. I quite liked it. Really brought a tear in my eye.
Oh, and I've seen just about every Wes Anderson movie that I haven't seen a while back. I should say that the Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is my most favorite.
And that's all I can remember. I'll be sure to post here on a regular basis from now on. Especially since I made an IMDb account.

Re: What was the last movie you saw?
I was finally able to watch Batman Begins for the first time. (It's complicated as to why I I hadn't seen it, and haven't seen the other two yet. But suffice to say, there were reasons.) Definitely enjoyed the heck out of that...

Ohh you're definitely gonna love the Dark Knight, I assure you.
I really have to see Dark Knight Rises myself. It's on my incredibly long to-watch list.
Ah yes, I forgot to mention that I'm halfway through with watching Donnie Darko for the first time, and I love it already. This movie really hooked me in. I'm already expecting some sort of twist ending.
I hope to finish it soon once I finish playing my games.

That sounds a bit like me, only with TV shows. I used to watch a lot... Then I realized, that in reality, I'd just rather game most of the time...
I hope to see The Dark Night soon though. Along with The Dark Night Rises. Might just be something that will happen on our days off.

Re: What was the last movie you saw?
I saw The Dark Night a while ago. And I have to say. The Joker was likely the best villain I've seen in a movie. Dang. Frighteningly good.
Overall, though, I think I like Batman Begins better. I might like it better after I watch The Dark Knight Rises. But really, the ending of The Dark Knight was just an absolute gut punch. It was a victory, because, well, the Joker's plot was stopped, with Gotham still intact. But, dang... The cost was very painful. And also, I'm not entirely certain of how necessary it was for Batman to take the blame for the murders Harvey committed.
So, yeah. In the end, the grimness of the ending made it not my favorite of the Batman Trilogy so far. Next up on my list of movies to watch... The Dark Knight Rises.

Re: What was the last movie you saw?
Yesterday, I watched The Dark Knight Rises. And liked it a great deal. I'm not sure if I like it more or less than Batman Begins, because I had a few issues with some of the twists they put with Bane. That for me was the main downer in it. Other than that, I loved it.
Then today.... Today I finally got the chance to watch Inception. And two words... MIND BLOWN. That movie was freaking awesome...

I got a copy of Mad Max: Fury Road for Christmas, so I re-watched it. Gladly, I report it held up to my first impressions.
I realllly need to see Star Wars but haven't yet. I'd also like to catch The Revenant if I can

Re: What was the last movie you saw?
I saw a few movies recently.
The Revenant: Cliched story, but fantastic cinematography.
Full Metal Jacket: The first act, which I knew the most about going in, I was surprised to find a bit disappointing. I can't quite put my finger on what it was, but I recall wishing for more dialogue between the recruits, maybe more of an insight into their personality. I think the least that could have been done that would have helped all that would be some more narration from the main character. The second act, however, was great and I really liked the ending.
Buffalo Soldiers: Decent, but some aspects were ridiculous in a way that couldn't win me over. I think they didn't get the tone quite right for it. I enjoyed it, but could have been more than what it is.

Re: What was the last movie you saw?
Saw The Force Awakens for the second time, and I think my previous criticisms were overstated. I enjoyed it way more this time and I think it was better than I thought it was the first time.
- Spoiler:
- My revised complaints:
Many people, myself included, thought that Rey was a "Mary Sue." After my second viewing, I think this is less of a character problem and comes more from how she is presented. Cut or change a few lines, and I would have no problem... well except for how quickly she is able to intuitively execute a Jedi mind trick. Honestly, that's it when it comes to her.
The destruction of Coruscant did not carry an ounce of weight. When Domnhall Gleeson's charactor said "We will destroy the government that supports the resistance, The Republic!" I was like "What republic?"
Anything else I might have complained about before, I didn't really have a problem with this time. However, I will add that I noticed a few odd things I didn't like editing-wise, but it's not really worth mentioning here.

Re: What was the last movie you saw?
As I'm looking at this topic, I noticed I've mostly been watching rather obscure titles that no one has ever heard of. Perhaps I should try and refrain from doing that.
Anyways, it's not the last movie I saw, but I finally saw Inception a couple weeks ago, and I absolutely loved it.

I saw The Revenant yesterday. 100/10 should've won Best Picture.

Re: What was the last movie you saw?
Today I saw The Force Awakens for the third time; I kinda just let myself relax while watching it this time, and paid attention to little details.
I also just watched Vertigo. That was quite a film.
- Spoiler:
- One thing I noticed this time around is that Kylo, when praying to Darth Vader asks him to show him the power of the darkness so that he could kill his father. In the later scene, the sun is shining on him, through where Finn and Rey came in to watch, and the sun is consumed before he kills Han. I thought that was an interesting bit of symbolism.
