Anime Discussion
So, what type of anime do you like? What have you watched? And what do you think about them?
Myself? I've only gotten into it this year, but the ones that stick in my mind are
RWBY, Special A, Vampire Knight, Black Butler, Amnesia, Kaichou wa Maid Sama,
Full Metal Panic!, Inu x Boku SS, Ouran High School Host Club and so many more I've somehow watched this year xD
Two that I'm working on right now is Clannad: After Story (watched teh first season)
Honestly, I'm not to impressed by the show.
And, I'm also working on Fairy Tail. By far my fav anime, I've fallen in love with the show, its creativity, the comradeship in the anime, the back story, all so well done!

Re: Anime Discussion
I haven't been watching as much Anime as I used to, but I still watch a little bit here and there. My all time favorite anime is Yu Yu Hakusho, it's fantastic. I've also seen a good chunk of Naruto, Inyuasha, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and about half of Attack on Titan and Sword Art Online.
Funny thing about AoT, when I first heard about it, for some reason I assumed it took place in space. Then I watched it, and it wasn't in space.

Re: Anime Discussion
Right now, I'm watching AoT, and it's pretty decent. My favorite animes I've seen were Peulla Magi Madoka Magica (only 12 episodes, but it is so so good I swear), Death Note, K-On!, Nichijou, and some others I might be forgetting.

Re: Anime Discussion
I wouldn't call myself a huge anime fan, but I really enjoy Hayao Miyazaki's work, or rather, Studio Ghibli in general. My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away in particular, since those are the only movies I've seen so far.
But I'm sure I will try out other stuff whenever I get around to it.

Re: Anime Discussion
I just finished AoT, and I really enjoyed it. It's the only anime that I have actually finished watching.
I am about halfway through Sword Art Online, which I also am enjoying, and I'm starting to watch a couple of episodes of Space Dandy.

Looks interesting Flushy, I might look into it if the site I watch anime on has it in dub. Thanks!

I personally don't care for Bleach. I've watched few episodes and it just didn't jive with me. It's really popular for some reason though.
Re: Anime Discussion
Bleach seems like it'd be good, but as far as I know its just popular because of its status as a mainstream action anime.

Re: Anime Discussion
Just wondering, do you guys prefer subbed or dubbed animes?

Re: Anime Discussion
Dubbed, definitely, I'll watched subbed sometimes. But, it can be hard for me to read what their saying plus watching whats going on.
If Its in dub, I can spend more time listening and watching the characters interact with each other and things around them.
Edit:
Also, with Subs, if the anime is pretty close to the manga, I may as well just read the manga. In some cases at lease xD

Re: Anime Discussion
It really doesn't matter to me if I watch it subbed or dubbed. I prefer to watch dubbed because I don't have to pay attention to what's going on. For example I can read the text message on my phone I just received without missing out on something happening. If I watch it subbed I can't do that.

Re: Anime Discussion
It REALLY depends. There are a lot of really bad dubs out there that are just painful to listen to.
Basically, it's like this:
Great dub> great sub> decent sub >>> decent dub >>>>>>>>>> bad dub

Re: Anime Discussion
It depends on the anime, but generally I like subs more, because it makes the show almost feel like I'm reading a book with visuals, so its an interesting experience imo.
Buuut, if the sub sucks, then I'll go with the dub if its better. It's purely circumstantial.

Re: Anime Discussion
I don't watch that much anime anymore, but I used to watch a pretty good amount of it. My favorite is Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple. Really fun show. The only anime that I've seen that I DON'T like is SAO. Wasn't into it at all.
I usually prefer dubbed, however the voice acting for certain shows are much better in Japanese. But it's a lot harder to follow along unless you've watched enough anime to get used to it.

I have to agree on SAO. I liked the concept and action, but its plot and characters lacked any substantial depth whatsoever.

Re: Anime Discussion
I really enjoyed the first half of SAO where they were actually trying to get out. I was also really excited and curious to see how they were going to fight their way through 100 floors. So I was extremely let down when they skipped around and were at floor 40 by the 3rd or 4th episode. So I agree with Cbm on how SAO had potential and squandered it.

THIS
Edit: accidentally lost everything I was typing about subs v. dubs, but I'll sum it up.
Pretty much agree w/ what MD said
I tend to prefer subs when it makes more sense for the characters to be speaking Japanese instead of English.
What are y'alls opinions on the best dubs out there? IMO Cowboy Bebop and the Fullmetal Alchemist series are the best you can get, but is there anything I'm missing out on?
Re: Anime Discussion
Yu Yu Hakusho is a fantastic dub, and is personally my favorite anime in general.
