Movie soundtracks Empty Movie soundtracks

What do you think of movie soundtracks, and what are your favorite soundtracks from films?

Disney almost always has impressive soundtracks, and of course often uses songs and music to progress plot and create mood, much like musicals. However, they are not unique in this, and many movies have a large focus on the music within their films. A good soundtrack can often make or break a movie. But outside of this, a lot of movie soundtracks are simply enjoyable to listen to, separate from the film altogether.

Some of the greatest stuff out there is by Ennio Morricone. Most famously, there's the ubiquitous theme to The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. He also still has quite the influence to this day, with directors like Tarintino using his previous music in their films, and even fellow composers like Hans Zimmer taking cues from him. This was especially evident on the Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows soundtrack, where, with a sharp ear, one can pick out nods to Morricone's style. The film also used one of his pieces, "Two Mules for Sister Sara," which you can also hear in Django Unchained.
